Location: Kiawah Island

A resort community and full-time resident population, Kiawah Island, South Carolina is known for its abundance of wildlife. Explore Mother Nature's beauty on land or in the water, and experience the aquatic life and vegetation that surround this 10-mile stretch of beach.

Experience Kiawah's natural habitat by taking a morning bike ride on one of the island's 30 miles of paved trails or 10 miles of flat beach. Surfscooter will deliver your bicycle to your front doorstep, or you might choose from the variety of bike trailers, chariots, and tag-a-longs if you want to adventure around Kiawah with your family in tow.

Be sure to stop at the nearby Johns Island Farmers Market on Saturday morning. In addition to locally sourced produce, the market also offers sustainable educational classes, demonstrations, and interactive opportunities to learn about making sustainable life choices.

Endorphin-fueled vacationers will find no lack of sporting activities around the island. Go for a run, kayak in the tidal pools around the island, or enjoy a game of tennis or a round of golf at the Kiawah Island Golf Club. The Roy Barth Tennis Center was ranked number three in the United States by Tennis magazine.

After a full day of activities, visit the Sushi Lounge at the Atlantic Room in the Ocean Course Clubhouse to enjoy the freshest locally sourced produce and seafood in the Low country, as well as small plates, cocktails, and fine wines.
