The Wall Street Journal recently featured a spectacular Ophir, Colorado listing from Leverage Partner Telluride Properties as House of the Day!

The property will be used as a filming location in Quentin Tarantino's upcoming post-Civil war film 'The Hateful Eight,' according to the film's unit publicist. Mr. Ragland said the property has previously been featured in commercials.

Larry Ragland and his wife, Colleen, spent about three years trying to find a property in Colorado that included mountains, a nearby ski resort, highway access, seclusion and a natural stream. They finally found it in Ophir, Colo., and Mr. Ragland said he purchased the 153 acres of land for $463,000 in about 1984.

The property includes a natural stream with wild trout and is surrounded by the Uncompahgre National Forest. Mr. Ragland and his son, Chad, said they enjoy fly fishing and hiking through the forest and to the edge of the property where there's a waterfall. 'It's an outdoor paradise,' Larry Ragland said.

The home took about a year and a half to build, including constructing a driveway to connect to the main road. Mr. Ragland said he had dreamed of owning a log home and wanted it to feel like a family home.

The main home is 8,073 square feet with six bedrooms, four bathrooms and one half bath; a caretaker's apartment is located in the basement. The property also has a detached three-car garage with a greenhouse.

The deck spans the south side of the home. The home is listed for $19.995 million, including furnishings, with Marty Stetina and Brian O'Neill of Telluride Properties and Lydia Sussek of the Corcoran Group.
