Agent Spotlight: Tamara Williams | Tamara Williams and Company, Bozeman, MT

Motivated by the aspiration to do more for her clients and her team, Tamara started her own brokerage, Tamara Williams and Company, so she could curate a team of professionals who share her vision of unparalleled service and expertise.

So much of today’s real estate experience leans towards automation and away from personal interactions, but Tamara and her team remain firmly rooted in their dedication to providing a tailored experience and concierge-level service for every client.

From first-time home buyers, to new builds, to luxury second homes, Tamara is grateful for every opportunity to help her clients navigate the real estate process. For Tamara, real estate is not just a numbers game – education and intuition are necessary to understand each client’s personalized needs, and enthusiasm and integrity are the qualities that guarantee a smooth process. Tamara’s brokerage represents so much more than her name; it embodies her team’s unrivaled commitment to empowering every client on their unique real estate journey.

How did you get into real estate?

I ended up in real estate by chance. Originally I wanted to be in finance; however, life had a different path for me. After relocating to Bozeman, MT, I applied to be a real estate assistant. I never wanted to be a Realtor as I did not think sales was a career path that included fulfilling people's needs – I thought it was cold calling and helping people that didn't want to be helped. However, after working as an unlicensed assistant for a few years and interacting with clients, I discovered I could truly make a difference in people’s lives.

Tell us about one of your most interesting deals.

I was helping an older gentleman sell his home that was in foreclosure. I was lucky enough to have the district attorney assist in extending the foreclosure on two occasions. The home was a severe fixer-upper. It was one of the worst homes I had ever stepped foot in, in terms of cleanliness and overall condition.

I was able to obtain an offer on the home, and I even paid for a moving company to relocate my client's belongings since he did not have enough money and was not physically able to move his belongings. Also, I was going to waive a substantial amount of my commissions to get the home sold as the foreclosure costs were too high.

The day before closing, the seller said he was too sick to sign his closing papers and told the title company they could not go to his house to sign either. In the middle of the night, I received a call from the sheriff's department notifying me they had my client under arrest for arson; he was fleeing the scene when they arrested him and smelled of smoke. I DID eventually sell his home to another buyer, which was a better financial situation for everyone involved due to insurance proceeds.

What are your daily “must-do(s)”?

Go to the office to give oversight to my team. I love networking with them and seeing their faces. This job is not an easy one, and having a team provides peace of mind. I also like to review all online marketing and give it a personal touch. I know these listings better than anyone, and I like to make sure they always look fresh in the consumers' eyes.

How do you like to spend your free time?

I have two children that fill my time outside of work. I spend so much time away from them that I pretty much try and smother them when I am not at the office. I also LOVE to ski, snowmobile, and ice skate.

Is there anything else you’d like to share about yourself or your business?

I opened my brokerage because I wanted to do more and be better. I felt real estate needed a facelift. I was appalled by the franchise way of life in terms of what they offered their clients and agents. They all wanted to be different, but they were all the same. I truly have no budget for any of my listings; my budget is whatever it takes to get the job done. Sometimes I lose money on a listing, however, I was hired to do a job, and I take that job very seriously.
