Get to know Nick Cameron, a Senior Partner with Craft & Bauer Real Estate Co. in Modesto, California.
Nick Cameron will tell you that his philosophy to real estate is to take a very personal approach, putting his clients’ interests above all else and “negotiating for them as if it were my money and my parents.” Those guiding principles made him an immediate success in real estate, closing 60 transactions in his first year and over 200 annual sales within a few years, landing Nick amongst the finalists for Realtor Magazine’s “30 Under 30” list.
Nick’s enthusiasm, knowledge and skill gained him a following and propelled him to the top of his field. He grew an organization from 200 to 1,700 agents and he has trained over 1,000 agents across the country to run and scale successful real estate teams and brokerages.
Nick has been in the real estate business for 17 years, specializing in new construction, relocation, and luxury properties as both a buyer’s and seller’s agent. In his leisure time, Nick enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, traveling, and collecting bourbon, which he loves sampling in a local speakeasy.
How did you get into real estate?
When I was 10 years old, my parents listed their house. A couple had driven by with their agent and I convinced them why they should buy my parents’ house, while I was home alone - things were different in the early 90's. According to my parents' agent, the late Glenn Race who got me started in real estate, the couples’ agent said I convinced them they should write it up and they did.
As an adult, I jumped into real estate after the army.
Thank you for your service! Would you like to share more about your service with the Army?
I was in the 82nd Airborne 2-505th PIR. I spent 4 years in the airborne infantry mostly stationed at Fort Bragg North Carolina. I was in when 9/11 happened and ended up being deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq for Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Tell us about your family.
My wife is an ICU Nurse at a local hospital and an amazing woman. She is an amazing step mother to our 2 older boys and together we have wonderful twins that are 20 months old.
Tell us about one of your most interesting deals.
A FSBO who had previously listed with agents couldn't stand them. After months of follow up he gave me a shot. Sold in the first weekend and ended up doing 15 properties for him and his family.
What are your daily “must-do(s)”?
Lead follow up.
How do you like to spend your free time?
Golf, bourbon tasting and collecting, and travel.
Where is your favorite place to travel to?
Our favorite place to travel is Italy and we will be going back in February.
Share one thing on your bucket list.
One I will never achieve but enjoy pursuing is having the greatest collection of Bourbon in the World.
Is there anything else you’d like to share about yourself or your business?
After 17 years I have realized too many agents and too many people make this great profession too stressful. I like to think I can remove that stress.
