Agent Spotlight: Pam Nellis, Landmark Realty Group

Meet Pam Nellis, a Broker with Landmark Realty Group in Highlands, North Carolina. A real estate veteran, developer, and a certified graduate of the Western School of Feng Shui, Pam loves finding homes for her clients that have the best “bones” to work with.

How did you get into real estate?

Early on, I worked for a real estate attorney in Fort Myers Beach, Florida. He encouraged me to take a real estate course so I would understand the terminology needed for closings. I received my initial associate license in 1978 while working for him. A client encouraged me to sell real estate part-time for his company and I liked it so much that I went into real estate full-time. I further worked to get my full broker's license so that I could also have the option to run my own office one day. This same attorney became a developer and I went back to work with him and his partners as a broker in charge of Summa Group Realtors and then, I became a project director for his resort, The Lahaina Inn Resort on Fort Myers Beach. I worked there for 18 years before moving to Highlands in 1995.

Tell us about one of your most interesting deals.

My most interesting deal was selling a 26-acre parcel of land in Highlands that a local contractor owned. The main house had 5 Bedrooms, 5 1/2 bathrooms, and other buildings such as a large workshop, large garage, three cabins, and a gorgeous setting with a small lake, ponds and a waterfall. The house and buildings were in disrepair and in need of some tender loving care. My buyers are exceptionally talented. One is a top designer, and her husband is a custom furniture maker. Together they have created the most beautiful venue, perfect for weddings and family gatherings. Find them on Instagram, @flatmountainfarm. It was interesting to see the before and now the after of a beautiful renovation for a very talented couple.

What are your daily “must-do(s)”?

My daily "must do" is start and end my day in gratitude!

How do you like to spend your free time?

In my free time, I like to hike trails, and waterfalls and also enjoy the local restaurants with friends to enjoy good food and a glass of wine.

Share one thing on your bucket list.

On my bucket list is a river cruise through the south of France ending up in Barcelona!

Is there anything else you’d like to share about yourself or your business?

I love houses and people, matching them together.
