Colorful gardens, unusual homes of interesting shapes and sizes, with a blending of some of the most charismatic homes in Santa Fe. Here timeless adobes meet Arts and Crafts-style, and the occasional sleek contemporary. This is the Historic Eastside. Coveted for its intimate beauty rather than distant views, many of the homes here have been passed down through generations. With a true enjoyment of life and its differences it is easy to see why living here would be wonderful!

This condo is a gem. Located in the historic Webster Compound the building was originally an artist‘s colony with writers such as Willa Cather, Thor Heyerdahl, and later, poet laureate Arthur Sze, weaver Ramona Sakiestewa and author Stanley Noyesit. Traditional in every respect, the flagstone floors with turquoise insets were handcrafted by Ann Webster. Built with adobe blocks, plaster walls, skylights, vigas and beam ceilings, and those flagstone floors, the interior is warm and inviting. The great room features a good-sized kiva fireplace with tiles, and divided doors and windows. There is a place for everything here: a dining area near the kitchen is easily large enough to seat two and is a nice conversation or work area as well. The area set aside for the bed has a cozy view of the fireplace. A gathering/ living area is near the fireplace and large enough for friendly visits. An interesting archway near the dining area showcases the open kitchen shelving and, looking from the kitchen, the arch creates an enticing slice-of-life view of the great room. There are traditional built-in cabinets in the kitchen, good appliances, and a nice amount of storage and counter space. Although small, it is user friendly in every way.  One of the nicest things about Santa Fe is the outdoor living. Here, there is a patio nestled between adobe and rock walls that backs up to a serene garden space that just calls out for a visit with friends and family... or perhaps a good book... and maybe a cup of coffee.

The Historic Eastside is near the Plaza, the heart of Santa Fe, and is within walking distance of many notable sites including Canyon Road, the School of Advanced Research, and a number of restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues.
