Discover the finer things in Rome | Where to eat, drink, and stay in the Eternal City

Rome has been an epicenter for art, architecture, culture, and cuisine for nearly 3,000 years. Fittingly known as the “Eternal City,” visitors can walk the same cobble-stoned streets as Julius Caesar and Michelangelo once did. But while its history is ancient, that doesn’t mean Rome hasn’t kept up with the times. Today, it’s a cosmopolitan metropolis that is home to world-renowned restaurants and five-star hotels. And we’ve got your guide on where to eat, drink, and stay while in the Italian capitol.

Stay

Portrait Roma

It’s easy to live “la dolce vita” when you’re staying at the Portrait Roma. Located on the stylish street of Via Bocca di Leone, where storefronts for Hermès, La Perla, and Marni call home, the Portrait Roma was started by the Ferragamo family. The hotel includes 14 private suites, each with its own personality but designed with the same feeling in mind: sophisticated glamour.

J.K. Place Roma

From the moment you step foot onto the marble lobby at J.K. Place Roma, you’ll feel at home, a very luxurious home. Rooms here feature private balconies, mahogany furnishings, and personally monogrammed pillows.

Saluti

Il Convivio Troiani

Il Convivio Troiani was started by three Italian brothers who dreamed of opening their own restaurant on day that would showcase the rich and diverse culinary history of their home country. Fast forward nearly three decades and the brothers’ modern approach to classic dishes has earned the restaurant a Michelin star.

La Pergola

A favorite among locals and visitors alike, La Pergola is the only restaurant in Rome to boast three Michelin stars. Located inside the Rome Cavalieri hotel, the cuisine is Mediterranean and the ambiance is pure elegance with a dining room adorned in artwork from the hotel’s collection. In the spring time however, you would be doing yourself a disservice not to dine alfresco on the terrace while enjoying unparalleled views of the city, including St Peter’s Basilica.

Wine

No Roman holiday would be complete without a glass (or two) of the finest Italian wine. Luckily, it’s hard to go wrong when choosing an enoteca or wine bar in this city. But when in doubt, go where the locals go. Antica Enoteca and Trimani are steeped in history and tradition, each serving and selling wine in the capitol for hundreds of years.

Salotto42

The décor is eclectic but the cocktails are serious at Salotto42. Located in the breathtaking Piazza di Pietra, opt for a traditional Negroni or leave it up to one of the experienced mixologists behind the bar to create a sip that is one-of-a-kind.

Rome’s rich history and modern culture leave you wanting more than what a short holiday can possibly encompass. So if you want to make your “when in Rome…” experience a little more permanent, our exclusive partner — CRRE — will be there to help you find your little slice of Italy.
