Cozy up to Fall: Transform Your Home for the Season

As the seasons change and the leaves turn from green to rich hues of mustard yellow and rustic red, your home should follow suit. Decorate for the coziest time of year with these simple and quick tips.

For your doorstep:

Gourds and pumpkins are some of fall’s most festive staples. But sometimes stacking them outside your doorstep can make it look more like a random pumpkin patch than a cheery entryway. Instead, create layers of structure using bases like barrels of hay or outdoor side tables. Fill wicker baskets with your favorite seasonal squash and place them on the bases for a more polished look.

For your guests:

Where family and friends will gather most, add texture and warmth to your living room with a printed rug and plush throw like this one.

No fireplace? No problem. Fill your coffee table tray with pillar candles of different sizes for a cozy focal point in the room. Light the candles and you’ve created an ambiance reminiscent of chestnuts roasting.

For you:

As the days get shorter and the temperatures start to cool, turn your bedroom in to a retreat. Replace your lighter fabrics with fuller, richer materials like billowy down comforters and velvet quilts. Start with neutral tones as your base then accent with traditional autumn colors like shades of rust and rich chocolate browns, or step in to winter with deep blues and cool grays.
