Located within the Tribeca South Historic District, 58 Reade Street was built in 1860 and designed in the Italianate style by architect Isaac F. Duckworth. Originally built as a store and loft building, in its first century it housed businesses for dry goods, oil cloths, belts, pocket books, and shoes. 58 Reade was developed into a luxury boutique residential condominium in 2001. For those who appreciate the fine craftsmanship and solid construction of a prewar building combined with an open floor plan and modern interior design, there is no better choice than the Penthouse at 58 Reade.

The Penthouse at 58 Reade is a perfect place to entertain on a grand scale. This meticulously designed and maintained home spans nearly 4,500 square feet on three floors with over 1,600 square feet of entertaining space on three lovely terraces on the upper two floors. Cocktails for 100 or dinner for 40 are easy to host in this glamorous space with great flow between rooms and to the outdoors.

A private elevator entrance opens to the 40' by 20' great room that glows with light from 5 dramatic arched south-facing windows and 11' ceilings. Within the living space is an open professional Valcucine kitchen with stainless steel countertops, backsplash, Sub-Zero refrigerator, Gaggeneau cooktop/oven, and Fisher-Paykel dishwashers. The kitchen is also equipped with a butler's pantry, fully functional chef prep system with drainage for dishes, two sinks, and a knife holder. An elegant living room with a gas fireplace, chic bar area, and guest room/study complete the entertaining suite on the first floor.

A graceful staircase sweeps up to the sunny second and third floors. Over-sized glass doors connect the inside rooms to the landscaped terraces, creating a warm and welcoming environment. The sitting room on the second floor has a wet-bar with refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, and sink to easily serve outdoor entertaining. The master bedroom has doors onto the north terrace as well and a peaceful spa-like bathroom. On the top floor, is another airy bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and terrace. The north terrace is fantastic for festive dinners while the south terrace has incredible views of lower Manhattan and is perfect for sunset cocktails.

Throughout this masterfully constructed home are custom details such as Sapele wood paneling, pocket doors, and a magnificent Art Deco door from Tiffany's Chicago which opens to the walk-in wine room. Additional features include an elegant powder room, laundry room, speaker wiring throughout, central A/C & heat, and two large storage rooms in the basement.
