Dwell Summit Wants to Give Back to Our Community by Paying Someone’s Rent!

Through the Dwell Well Project, Dwell Summit Real Estate will pay up to $5,000 toward rent for one deserving Summit County family or individual

Dwell Summit Real Estate is pleased to announce the Dwell Well Project, a giving initiative geared toward full-time residents of Summit County. Through the Dwell Well Project, Dwell Summit will pay three months of rent (up to $5,000) for one deserving Summit County family or individual.

“In a rental market that is increasingly competitive, we seek to represent owners and tenants with fairness, honesty, and integrity. I’m thankful for the excellent feedback we’ve received from property owners and tenants regarding Dwell Summit’s approach to long-term leasing,” says Delahoz. “Through the Dwell Well Project, we hope to change the conversation about renting in Summit County.”

Having managed Breckenridge rental properties since 2010, Delahoz is well-versed in the dramatic market fluctuations that often frustrate Summit County tenants.

“There’s a lot of anger associated with the high cost of living in Breckenridge and the fact that it only continues to climb,” Delahoz acknowledges. “We value our tenants tremendously, recognize the contributions they make to Summit County, and want them to thrive here. I know that paying a few months of rent isn’t going to change the world, but it’s my hope that it will create a ripple effect of goodwill and good conversation in our community.”

To introduce the pay-it-forward concept, Dwell Summit held a weekly series of “little gives” on Instagram using the hashtag #dwellwellinitiative. Over the past few months, @dwellsummit followers have had the chance to win everything from a free Starbucks drink to a Whole Foods gift card from Dwell Summit.

“From smaller weekly giveaways to the ‘big give’ of covering a local resident’s rental payment next spring, everything goes back to investing in and building up our community,” shares Delahoz.

While Instagram prizes and pick-me-ups are fun, Delahoz hopes that this year’s Dwell Well Project recipient will utilize their rent break to do some serious planning for the future.

“We’re not looking to finance a vacation,” says Delahoz. “Our vision is for one deserving person or family to use the extra money to create a cushion for unexpected emergencies, or create a down payment fund with an eye toward buying a property in Summit County in the future. We want to empower those seeking to put down roots in our community.”

Dwell Summit is accepting Rent Recipient nominations now through January 31, 2019. Applicants/nominees must be Summit County residents engaged in a minimum 12-month lease to qualify. Submission applications and further information, including information about contributing to the giving fund, can be found on the Dwell Well Project website: dwellwellproject.com. A panel of judges comprised of local business owners and non-profit representatives will review the applications and announce a recipient in February of 2019. Up to $5,000 will be paid directly to the recipient’s landlord for the months of March, April, and May of 2019.
