Business Insider recently asked several estate agents in London — including Leverage Partner Beauchamp Estates — for the priciest homes they are offering on the market.

With the average cost of a house in London priced at over £550,000, living in London can be expensive. But have you ever wondered what the most expensive houses in the British capital cost?

Here are a couple of the most lavish properties in London from Beauchamp Estates, featured in the Business Insider article 11 of the most expensive homes you can buy in London right now, ranked.

Avenue Road, St. Johns Wood, NW8 — £40 million

For £40 million, you could buy an 11,157 square-foot ambassadorial property in North London, located a short distance from Primrose Hill and Regents Park.

As well as seven bedrooms and six bathrooms, whoever buys this house will get access to a swimming pool and gym studio. There's also a cinema room, so the proprietor will never have to sit in a crowded auditorium again.
