Glamping: Luxury Camping for Glamorous Campers
What do you get when you mix the outdoor experience of camping with all of the luxury amenities of a 5 star hotel? Glamping. It’s glamour meets camping.
This international travel trend is perfect for the adventurers among us, who still like some pampering, even in the wilderness. And given the choice, who wouldn’t want a spa-like bathroom and huge, comfy bed when you’re roughing it in the great outdoors?
So how does it work? Unlike your typical camping trip where you pack up the car until it’s bursting and drive to the campsite, pitch a tent, start a fire, locate a good spot for relieving yourself and then get down with your outdoorsy self, glamping pretty much only requires a reservation and the rest is taken care of for you.
There are websites, like Glamping.com, where you can search through locations and find a venue, like California, Montana, The Maldives or India. The list is long. You find your spot, book your dates and then wait for your magical vacation to begin.
According to Glamping.com, "whether in a tent, yurt, airstream, hut, villa or treehouse, glamping is a way to experience the great outdoors without sacrificing luxury." Each campsite is different, but what you can expect is a luxury hotel experience, set in the middle of nature.
The tents (though sometimes they’re not so much tents as they are cabins or huts) are like something out of a fantasy, complete with lux sleeping accommodations and bathrooms like no camper has seen before. Don’t worry, your dining needs are taken care of, too, with on-site chefs. S’mores are virtually a guarantee. All that in these fabulous, lush locations surrounded by trees, desert or ocean.
The great outdoors just got a little bit more glamorous.
So how about it? Is glamping something you’d be interested in? How do you camp? Please share your ideas and leave your comments below.
