According to our Leverage Partner in Vail,  the area received “34 inches in the end of January (23.8 in just one day) breaking snow records and snowfall averages since the 2011 drought.” The huge powder cycle means people can take advantage of the spectacular ski conditions for even longer than expected in Vail Valley and its collection of stunning mountain communities.

The gorgeous scenery of the Rocky Mountains and countless luxury amenities throughout make Vail an ideal vacation destination. With projections of more snow to come in the week ahead, now is the time to visit!

Things to do in Vail Valley:

Mountain Resort: With all the snow in the area, the slope conditions are ideal, with powder and packed powder galore.  From March 3-8, the Burton U.S. Open Snowboarding Champions will be hosted in Vail.  The world’s best snowboarders, who will have just competed in Sochi, will come together for this premier event, presented by Mini.  With days of intense Olympic-caliber competition and some great live entertainment, the event should not be missed.

Adventure Ridge:  Even if skiing or snowboarding isn’t your thing, there is still tons of mountainous fun to be had in Vail.  Adventure Ridge Snow Park is filled with high intensity activities including Tubing, Ski Biking, Snowmobiling, Trampolining and Ziplining.  If you like a slower pace, try out snowshoeing! Open day and night, this is play place for children and adults alike.

Vail Village: This mountain village is incredibly unique with its cobble stoned streets and small town charm.   Located at the base of the snowy slopes is a warm, inviting community offering incredible food options like fine dining at Block 16 in the Sebastian Hotel and great burgers at Bully Ranch. There’s also shopping, entertainment and the Solaris ice-skating rink.
